New University Lecturer Antti-Pekka Tuovinen

Who are you and where do you come from?

I am Antti-Pekka Tuovinen, Ph.D. (University of Helsinki/Computer science). I have worked the past twelve years at Nokia and Accenture in research and development roles of Nokia's smartphones. Before that I worked about six years at the department as a researcher and teacher.

What will you be doing at the department?

I will start as a University Lecturer in the area of software systems.

How did you end up at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Helsinki?

The department had a suitable position open. I know the department from earlier times and I believe that the department offers me meaningful work, a good working environment, and opportunities to develop my skills further.

What do you know about the department and what do you expect from it?

See the previous answer.

How do you spend your leisure?

I read a lot (fact & fiction) and I am interested in many things, I exercise preferably outdoors, and I spend some time with flight simulators and handiwork.

Tell us something everyone should know about you.

I am called "AaPee" or Antti-Pekka. I am interested to get to know the research groups and their research at the department. Maybe I could participate in some research work also, although that is not strictly required in my position.
