Success in NCPC programming contest

The NCPC programming contest for Nordic universities was held on Saturday 5th October 2013. The contest consists of algorithm programming tasks that are solved by teams of three people. This year almost 300 teams participated, among them 15 teams from University of Helsinki. There were also 9 teams from Aalto University.

The best team from our university was Segfaulting alot in despair with Olli Hirviniemi, Janne Junnila and Topi Talvitie. The team managed to solve 9 tasks out of 11 and ranked 4th. Another successful team was can has pizza?! with Juhana Laurinharju, Paul Saikko and Ossi Saresoja. They ranked 7th by solving 8 tasks. However, the contest was dominated by Stockholm's KTH, having four teams in top 10. The winner team Omogen Heap also came from KTH. The best team from Aalto University was AngryNerds with rank 10.

The next contest NWERC will be in November. Segfaulting alot in despair will probably represent our university in this contest.
