Dr. Alessandro Valitutti - introducing a new employee
Dr. Alessandro Valitutti is one of the most recent additions to our staff. He just joined Hannu Toivonen's 'research group as a postdoc. His position is jointly funded by HIIT's pump priming funds and Algodan, the center of excellence in algorithmic data analysis. He is a key person in setting up new research into computational creativity. Below, Alessandro answers some personal questions.
Who are you and where do you come from?
I am Alessandro Valitutti. I come from Italy. In the last ten years I was living in Trento, a nice town in the Alps, although I am originally from Naples.
What will you work on at the department?
I will work at HIIT and the department as postdoctoral researcher. My research will focus on computational creativity and, more specifically, computational humor. In other words, I am interested in using computers to make people laugh.
What should everyone know about you?
I like to know new people talking about any topic, but sometimes I can be a bit shy and clumsy.
How do you spend your free time?
Meeting friends, reading, listening music, and dancing argentine tango.
