Complex Systems Computation (CoSCo)

The CoSCo research group studies computational problems in complex systems, especially regarding issues related to machine learning, model selection and statistical inference. The main research areas of the group include Bayesian networks and other probabilistic graphical models, the Minimum Description Length (MDL) principle and other information-theoretical approaches to inference, and data analysis and visualization methods for multidimensional and heterogeneous Big Data sources. CoSCo is part of the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Computational Inference Research (COIN).
